Cross-country running is a sport that will challenge you, get you into shape, let you see the world, and achieve your highest goals. True, there is no guarantee on the last two points, but there certainly is on the first two. The season commences at the beginning of September and lasts until the middle of October. Zones take place at the beginning of October, and Provincials take place on the third Saturday of that month. We train on the Camrose Ski trails on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and use various methods to improve your running skills, including short sprint work, time trials, and long-distance training. Cross-country running is open to anyone from the serious racer to those who simply want to get in shape. The distances that you train for vary according to your age and gender.
